@rebeccaniziol and I just spent a few hours today finalizing details for our Saturday Activate Your Vision 2020 experience. Rebecca is an experienced guide and soul coach. I remember about 8 years ago when we were both teaching at exhale~Chicago , I sat down with her, got cozy with tea, and learned about what she was up to. I was so struck by how wise she was at such a young age! And has continued to evolve and master her skills. She is deep and connected, she has an ease with living soulfully, and she shares and leads with generosity and love.

(NOT a photo of me! But I have a story to share about rock climbing!) In my late 20’s I felt stuck: stuck in a job I didn’t love without an obvious path upwards and my educational degrees were in psychology, theology, and sociology(almost too broad and applicable for a career path). I wanted a ♥️relationship where I felt cherished with someone who matched my willingness to live full out. It was right around the “dot com” boom and bust. In my meditation and reflection the phrase “I want to reach new heights “ kept coming up for me. So I remember on my birthday weekend asking a friend to take me indoor rock climbing(we had to drive out to Schaumburg to do this, that was the closest place!) Somehow I knew in my bones, literally, that I needed to feel the climb upwards in order to get unstuck: the feeling of fear on the way up and the willingness to commit to the climb, the feeling of being off the ground and out of my safety zone, the reliance on others to coach me because they could see the possible routes from their vantage point, to feel the physical strength of gripping and leveraging myself up using my core/inner strength, to feel trust in my being to move upward and not just be a spectator in life. I didn’t know the word #embodiment the way I do now, but that’s what I was seeking at the time to help me move onwards and upward. To take the risk of leaving a corporate job and to reach new and unknown heights. To leave the safety of a relationship with too many limitations for the risk of being alone but being ALIVE!! A lot happened the next few years and obviously my life has taken a very unique path. Every time I feel stuck I remember that feeling and sometimes I do a climb 🧗‍♂️ to remind me of the inner and outer strength living requires.

It’s illumine’s 6th birthday today!! We launched September 26,2013 and it’s been a journey! A lot of growth, both inside and outside, but truthfully mostly inside. Evolving from being a yoga teacher to producing a magazine and media platform is no small feat💪🏽and a lot of the work is solitary and behind the scenes. I am so grateful for the many many hands and heart and minds that make it happen! Stay tuned for what’s next! In the works is the illumine Life! This summer I completed a really amazing course called The Manifestation Method, led by @markanthonylord a regular contributor to @illumine_magazine . I got so much out of it that I want to share it with you. This program is specifically designed to help bring #dreams and #desires into form. It’s really unique because it focuses the entire time on helping you get yourself into #alignment with that which you want to create.
One of the biggest learning moments for me was #reconnecting with things/experiences, ideas and possibilities I truly desire. It had been a while since I even thought about what would make me feel really happy, fulfilled, and satisfied. See linktr.ee in Bio

I happened to see the end of a very disturbing story on @60minutes the other night. It wasn’t about betraying and dishonest politicians or multi-millionaire pedophiles, gratefully I was still enjoying dinner with my parents for those headline stories. Rather it was about the amount of plastic in the world and how it is harming wildlife, specifically birds. The use of plastics has been on my mind a lot lately, so I just wanted to bring it up and maybe it will start some conversations and change some actions in your life.
