Chicagoans and visitors who want to unwind and dine at a venue with a view could find a perfect fit in the Godfrey Hotel’s Rooftop Yoga and Brunch. The upscale River North hotel is offering a Saturday morning vinyasa flow on its “urban roofscape” followed by a chair massage, mimosa and fruit parfait.
Mandy Goode, an experienced yoga teacher and fitness trainer, guides students through the hour-long vinyasa flow. Her style is simple enough for new students to follow and challenging enough for veteran yogis to feel the heat. The morning sunlight streaming down and reflecting off the nearby buildings adds a beautiful, natural heat to the experience.
The hotel’s spa provides chair massages after savasana along with a mimosa and fruit and yogurt parfait. Brunch on the rooftop opens to the public shortly after the flow ends. If a mimosa and a parfait don’t satisfy, other menu items are available for purchase. The crowd consists of a well-dressed combination of tourists and locals, so a reservation and a change of clothing might be a good idea for yogis who plan to stay for full brunch.
The Godfrey will offer its Rooftop Yoga and Brunch event through Saturday, September 5th. Yoga with brunch costs $35, yoga only costs $18. Mats are provided and pre-registration is recommended.
